Getting Back Into a Consistent LinkedIn Routine After Summer

September is usually when people start thinking about getting back into a routine.

That includes LinkedIn.

After a few weeks away, it can be tempting to try to pick up exactly where you left off.

That might mean deciding you’re going to post several times a week, comment every day and finally get through all those content ideas you've been sitting on.

A routine that felt manageable when you had more time can quickly become difficult once work gets busy again.

Before deciding how much content you want to create, think about how much time you can realistically give LinkedIn each week.

For some people, that could be 20 minutes a day. For others, it might be a few focused sessions during the week.

The exact routine will be different for everyone, but it needs to be something you can realistically keep going.

I would also separate being active on LinkedIn from creating content.

You can spend time commenting on relevant posts, responding to conversations and seeing what your audience is talking about without having to create something yourself every day.

Those conversations can also give you ideas for your own content.

If you’re not sure what to post about after a break, look at the questions people are asking you, the problems coming up in conversations and the things you have an opinion on.

Your content bank can start building again from there.

Then decide how often you want to publish.

And don't worry about making up for the posts you didn't publish during the summer. They've gone.

Focus instead on what you want your LinkedIn activity to look like from September onwards.

There are four months left of the year, which is still plenty of time to build momentum if you create a routine you can maintain.

You don't need to be on LinkedIn constantly. It just needs to become part of your working week again.

Build a routine that fits into your week and gives you a level of consistency you can maintain.

A lot of people assume that if LinkedIn isn’t bringing enquiries, they must be further away than they realised. They think they need more content, more visibility, or a complete rethink of what they’re doing. But in a lot of cases, that isn’t true. What’s usually happening is that they’re closer than they think, but something small is getting in the way at the point where interest should turn into action. They’re showing up, their content is being seen, and the right people are likely coming...

The biggest thing I’ve noticed in 2025 is how many people think social media is easier now that AI tools can write content for them. They couldn’t be further from the truth, because in reality, it’s having the opposite effect. LinkedIn feeds are full of posts that look and sound the same. The more generic the content becomes, the easier it is for people to scroll past it without a second thought. This is where so many solopreneurs are struggling. They are creating more, yet getting noticed...

Stop Overthinking LinkedIn: Try This Simple Shift

The Mindset Change That Will Improve Your LinkedIn Results Many people hesitate to post on LinkedIn because they think every post needs to be perfect. They overanalyse every word, worry about how they'll be perceived or assume they need big ideas to make an impact. Here’s the truth: You don’t need perfection to succeed on LinkedIn. You just need to START. This small mindset shift, from aiming for perfect to aiming for progress, changes everything. When you focus on starting instead of getting...
